She worked as a high school English teacher for 12 years in public schools and now works as a community counselor for an nonprofit organization specializing in systems approach to family therapy and community development. Her interest in Africa began in 3rd grade after watching an infomercial for Save the Children, but it was over 20 years before she had the opportunity to go to Kenya on a short-term mission trip. Shortly after that trip, she came on staff with E3 Partners Missions Organization and began leading trips to Kenya with her husband, Brad. In addition to leading short-term trips to Kenya, her travels include South America, China, Ukraine, and Uganda where she has organized teacher training, counseling workshops, women’s conferences and HIV/Aids Education and counseling as well as poverty alleviation.
